Gave free hugs at UT today. Had a good time. Hugged a red ball for channelAustin and might be in a promo for them. Also hugged the shih out of this adorable shih tzu who was hanging out at the Longhorn Pets Alive table.
This girl named Sara(h) talked to me for a bit after I hugged her. After we talked for a little bit, she said, “This may sound weird, but I can feel God’s love through you right now.”
I don’t believe in any gods or religions, but I can definitely appreciate the beauty in what she said and it did make me feel good. :)
TRUE STORY: I offered this guy a free hug at the “(500) Days of Summer” screening at SXSW a few years ago, but he turned me down. The director, Marc Webb, INTERRUPTED AN ON-CAMERA INTERVIEW to give me a hug. He also directed a ton of my favorite music videos and the new Spider-Man incarnation.
